WordPress Maintenance and Support

Updates applied on staging first, backups that have actually been restored, and a named engineer who knows your build.

Typically from
$750 / month
Typical timeline
Rolling monthly

Most maintenance plans are a cron job and an invoice. Updates get applied straight to production on a Friday, backups are taken but never restored, and nobody notices the site is down until a customer emails.

Ours runs differently because the failure modes are predictable. Updates go to staging first and are smoke-tested against the paths that actually earn money, checkout included. Backups are restored to a scratch environment on a schedule, because an untested backup is a rumour. Uptime and Core Web Vitals are monitored continuously, not checked quarterly.

You get a named senior engineer who knows your codebase, which is the difference between a support ticket and someone who already understands why that plugin is patched.

What the engagement includes

Staged core and plugin updates

Applied to staging, smoke-tested against critical paths, then promoted. Never straight to production.

Security hardening and monitoring

WAF rules, file integrity monitoring, login hardening and vulnerability alerts against your specific plugin set.

Backups with tested restores

Off-site, versioned, and restored on a schedule to prove they work.

Uptime and performance monitoring

Continuous checks with alerting, plus a monthly Core Web Vitals trend.

Named senior engineer

The same person each month, with a defined response window rather than a ticket queue.

What you receive

Every engagement ends with artefacts you own, not a login to something we control.

  • Monthly maintenance and uptime report
  • Update log with staging test results
  • Restore verification record
  • Security and vulnerability summary
  • Agreed response-time SLA

WordPress Maintenance: common questions

Do you maintain sites you did not build?

Yes, after a fixed-price onboarding audit. We need to know what is in the codebase before promising to keep it running, and the audit tells you honestly what condition it is in.

What counts as included support?

Updates, monitoring, backups, security, and small content or styling changes within an agreed monthly allowance. New features are quoted separately so the retainer stays predictable.

What is the response time if the site goes down?

Response windows are set in the agreement and depend on tier. Emergency cover with a defined out-of-hours window is available for stores and enterprise platforms.
