- $6,000
- Typical timeline
- 3 to 8 weeks
The technical part of a migration is rarely what goes wrong. What goes wrong is the URL map. A site moves, three hundred old paths quietly start returning 404 or, worse, a soft 200 on the homepage, and six months of organic traffic evaporates before anyone opens Search Console.
So we start there. We crawl the existing site, pull the indexed URL set from Search Console, and build a redirect map covering every path with traffic, links or impressions before a single post is moved. Anything that cannot map one-to-one gets an explicit decision rather than a default.
Content migration itself is programmatic. For anything past a few dozen posts we write a scripted import so it can be run repeatedly against staging, checked, corrected and re-run, rather than hand-copied once and hoped over.
What the engagement includes
Full URL and redirect mapping
Every legacy path with traffic or links resolved to a 301, verified after cutover.
Programmatic content import
Scripted and repeatable, with media, taxonomies, authors and metadata carried across.
Search parity checks
Titles, descriptions, canonicals, structured data and internal links compared before and after.
Staged cutover
DNS and TTL plan, content freeze window and rollback path agreed in advance.
Post-launch monitoring
Crawl errors, index coverage and rankings watched for the first 30 days.
What you receive

WordPress Migration: common questions
Will we lose search rankings?
Some short-term movement is normal while Google re-crawls. Lasting loss is almost always a redirect or content-parity failure, which is why the URL map is the first deliverable rather than the last. We monitor index coverage for 30 days after cutover.
How long does a migration take?
Most run three to eight weeks depending on content volume and how clean the source data is. A Squarespace brochure site is quick. Ten thousand Drupal nodes with custom fields is a project.
Can you migrate without downtime?
Yes. The new site is built and content-loaded on staging, verified, then DNS is switched with a lowered TTL. Public downtime is typically zero.
